I have played Lil Gator Game, and yep: it’s good, too. A similarly knockabout outdoor adventure with a cast of vibrant characters. Now it’s getting a new"game-sized"expansion called Lil Gator Game: In The Dark. There’s no release date yet. I haven’t finished Lil Gator Game, but I intend to. Just a good time, from what I played. I come and go with “painterly” art direction in video games. Still, there’s a slow-time mechanic if you feel overwhelmed. Here’s a trailer. Wartorn is their very first original project. It’s from a team led by a former S.T.A.L.K.E.R. developer, too, and those S.T.A.L.K.E.R. alumni certainly know how to post a good apocalypse. So far, your choices seem mostly to consist of “shoot it/don’t shoot it”. There’s also a crafting system and a variety of guns to modify and coo over. Unsurprisingly, in retrospect, the trailer also has big The Witcher vibes. The stringy orchestral music? The horrible things happening to armoured grunts? This things really playing the Polish fantasy hits. Face your foes be they human, monster, or the ticking clock itself.

It’s a lot of fun for people who enjoy ye olde PS1 aesthetics and foggy throwback horror.
