Asus ROG Ally X review: the best Windows handheld, if you can afford it

Or, to be more specific, post-Steam Deck OLEDones. True, it is heftier in the hand, but hardly any more so than a Steam Deck. The switch from a 40WHr battery to an 80WHr one also pays dividends to battery life. On these grounds, the ROG Ally X is instantly more appealing than the fast-burning original. A more surprising, though hardly less welcome improvement is that of actual game performance. Even the screen is better, and I dont even recall this being an advertised improvement....

Avowed's release delayed into 2025 to dodge "a busy season" on Game Pass, claims report

Obsidianaccidentally let slip a 12th November release date for Avowedin June in a developer blog. I’m not convinced that qualifies as a “very busy period”. I do like the looks of the game, but I’m not exhilarated....

Activision revive Warzone's Caldera map as open source (yay!) but say it's to help train AI (booo)

It gotshut down last yearas Activision focused their efforts elsewhere, making the map unplayable. But you’re free to now revisit those bullet-strewn beaches. In theory, anyway. Activision have released it as a 4GB open-source project that can be explored in a 3D model-viewing tool. The data they’re releasing also includes records of the paths players took across the island. That information is often critical to designers of these sorts of huge landmasses....

“Well, it depends on what your standards are. “The future is uncertain, let’s put it that way,” he added. Braid: Anniversary Edition remasters the game with fully recreated artwork and over 15 hours of developer commentary. It’s the first game released by Blow’s company, Thekla, since first-person puzzlerThe Witnessin 2016....
