Explosive shooter Prodeus is getting an expansion that adds a spear and a grappling hook

Of all the recent gib-fanciers, I lasted longest withProdeus. It looked stunning, it felt great to play, and it ran niftily on my Steam Deck. Now there’s a new mini-campaign expansion on the way. The Elder Veil adds a spear, a grappling hook, and a new mini-campaign. I am extremely onboard to play one of these shooters that doesn’t feel claustrophobic at all times. Bounding Box Software have also announced that they’re working onadding quick save and quick loadto the base game....

AMD FSR 3 is out now in Forspoken and Immortals of Aveum, inbound to EVE Online

Except these are currently limited to tedious magic shootersForspokenandImmortals of Aveum, which is less great. Thats on top of the usual FSR upscaling, which is a performance helper in its own right. Well see, which for me means returning to at least one world of wisecracking sorcerers. AMD have also just announced thatEVE OnlineandPax Deiwill be getting it patched in, too. FSR 3 arrives mere days afterDLSS 3.5, the latest version of its Nvidia rival....

Best CS2 crosshair codes: Pro Counter-Strike 2 crosshair list

This will allow you to share your Counter-Strike 2 crosshair code with anyone you like! Like his name, s1mple’s crosshair is straightforward - just a small, thin cyan cross-section. Evidently that’s all you need. The thin cyan cross-section seems to be a very popular choice among pro players. It’s a small, blocky cyan affair with little more than a 2x2 pixel space in the centre. Hopefully you’ve found a crosshair or two that you like the look of!...

Bethesda surprise releases new Elder Scrolls game

Fus Roh management sim A new Elder Scrolls game has been released! Is itThe Elder Scrolls VI??? No you poor, sweet summer child, it’s another spin-off mobile game, of course. Overarching goals include appointing an heir, managing the food supply and not getting assassinated by those disgusting peasants. Fallout Shelter had the advantage of leaning into Fallout’s satirical VaultBoy art, whereas Castles is more generic. Still, perhaps they could have modelled it after one of the Elder Scrolls series' in-game lorebooks?...

Cyberpunk 2077's 2.01 update gives new meaning to the phrase "performance drop"

Now that’s whatIcall a plunging frame-rate. “Then it’s Cyberpunk 2. Or ‘Orion,’ I should say, whatever we end up naming it.” The game is certainly in a much stronger place today than it was back at launch in 2020. Graham pronouncedCyberpunk 2077: Phantom Libertyone of the best expansions ever made. Anyway, findthe provisional 2.01 changelogbelow. There’s no release date, but it’s “coming soon.” Fixed an issue where the UI could show controller inputs when playing with keyboard and mouse....

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty's combat is great, often avoidable

Im not sure Id call Cyberpunk an immersive sim, but it is a many-paths first-person shooter. Weve seen this before in many other games, fromDeus ExtoDishonored. But really this is just swapping one method of engaging with combat for another. Once they land, they throw up red smoke to mark their location on the horizon. These supply drops are also optional, repeating combat encounters. The drop locations are always in areas designed with lots of cover and interesting angles of attack....

Eldritch fishing adventure Dredge delays The Iron Rig expansion to 2024, but it’ll still be getting DLC this year

And, as any fisher knows (I assume), patience is key to landing something good. Its one ofour favourite games of 2023 so far, too.

An ode to Hypnospace Outlaw's virtual hamster April, and my long-dead Catz and Dogz petz

I first encountered Dogz 3 at a friend’s house. The third games, though? I played the hell out of them. The door portal was a particular stroke of genius on this front, too. Exactly what I wanted as a kid whose parents despised their real-life equivalents. Listen, I was ten, it was all perfectly innocent, I assure you. The only pet I did, in fact, have as a child, was a hamster....

Cocoon review: this puzzler is a world-hopping delight

I am convinced everyone should spring to action and hoist an orb on their shoulders. I couldn’t put mine down. You play as a winged insect lad birthed from a chrysalis and plopped into a mysterious desert land. Defeat the moth in the first world and the game’s pattern clicks into place. Your orange orb unlocks a power to reveal invisible platforms! Green orb’s world is awash with flora and the patter of rain and… those invisible platforms....

Counter-Strike 2 launches without many of Global Offensive’s best features

And here are a few things thatarentin the game versus CSGO, at the time of writing. Community server support and the map workshop are coming soon. Theres no Mac support and no indication as to when itll be added. Certain beloved Counter-Strike maps, like Train and Cache, are absent. There have also been the usual launch day bugs. Valvepatchedthe game within hours of itsrelease updateto address a few of these smaller technical wobbles....

Counter-Strike 2 probably shouldn't be able to dine out on CS:GO's positive reviews

That’s pretty good going for a game that released less than 24 hours ago. Given the games are so similar, then perhaps CS2 supplanting the Steam page of its predecessor is reasonable. I’m unconvinced, however. I think it’s a question of degree. Valve themselves obviously feel as if the changes between the two games are significant. They have, after all, called this Counter-Strike 2 and not CS:GO 1.6. User reviews exist to give players information about a game before they devote time or money to it....
