Have You Played... Alt254?

Its soundtrack is a bit of a corker, too. It can, admittedly, be a little obtuse. you’re free to grab it onSteam.

Alchemy sim Potion Craft has the best crafting system ever concocted

Brew-tiful times out now Im a big fan of life-sim mini-games. We’ve written about it before, butPotion Craftis out now. It’s a little abstract, so stick with me. Adding ingredients to your cauldron will set the bottles course, and stirring the mixture will make it move. Its tactile but never difficult, and takes a wonderful finesse to master. Another lovely set of details go into the way that everything sounds.

Blacktail is the kind of 00s adventure throwback that I want to see more

It’s worth writing about though, so here I am, doing that. If you know any European folklore you may have reason to suspect they’re right. The good stuff is [waves hands] everything else. The world of Blacktail is one where magic and monsters are real. More mythical things are introduced on the reg. There are roses that contain the eyes of greedy people, and they stare at treasure chests. Your levelling area is Baba’s chicken-legged hut....

Distract guards by flushing toilets in this free little Thief homage

Your manor will be different to mine, but the toilets will probably still be silly. It’s made using procgen, so the rooms fit together in odd yet endearing ways. That said, there are two ways to play this. I respect anyone who commits to role-playing and pretending you do actually need to sneak. They are nice hands. Look out for more from the 7dfps. Game jams are great at throwing up neat l’il things like this....

Have You Played... The Lost Files Of Sherlock Holmes: The Case Of The Serrated Scalpel?

Care for a game of darts, Watson? Some point-and-click adventures prefer their heroes all comedic and wacky, your Guybrush types. Others are more stoic and action-orientated, such as Indy Jones or Graham of Daventry. Okay, I was definitely the Watson of that duo. Serrated Scalpel was developed by Mythos Software and published by EA in 1992. It lets you delve into a murder investigation surrounded by the familiar cast of Holmes stories....

Be a gecko and climb on any surface in The Gecko Gods

That’s how I feel after watching the trailer for The Gecko Gods, at least. I believe this guy can control a boat. I like it when the animals in animal games do their animal things. You canwishlist it now.

Classic FPS Star Wars: Dark Forces has gotten a well deserved glow-up

I wasnt very good at it back then, if I recall correctly. I never played it again, but did enjoy Kyle Katarns adventures inJedi Outcastyears later....

Escape From Tarkov goes dungeon-crawling in Dark And Darker

It’s an interesting one, and doing well on both Steam and Twitch. The combat did not feel interesting or good to me, but this is still relatively early in development. And it’s possible for you to bring your pals, which is nice. You really will need your pals. While you’re fighting monsters and nabbing loot, other players are doing the same in the same dungeon. You might bump into them....

Have you played… Control?

Yes, even more so thanHalf-Life 2. Maybe its the slower flying speed of the desk, giving you more time to anticipate the blow. Maybe its the recoil of the face. You probably couldnt call Control underrated, but I never felt its combatspecificallygot the respect it deserves.
