Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition would be a timeless JRPG, if it weren't for its shonky performance

Chrono Cross, its semi-related but not direct sequel, has taken even longer to get here. That in itself, I’m absolutely okay with. I’ve got nothing about a locked 30fps frame rate, as long as it’s consistent. You see, physical attacks allow you to power up your magical Element attacks in Chrono Cross. Only here you don’t have a separate MP bar. The mad thing is, this frame rate lurching doesn’t happen anywhere else....

Corsair's stylish Dominator Platinum RAM is 22% off today at Ebuyer UK

16GB of white, RGB-encrusted 3200MT/s RAM for massive style points. In terms of raw performance, 3200MHz CL16 is quite a standard specification. In any case, I’ll stop waffling for now.

Elden Ring has buffed the big boy with the little horse again

Thepatch noteslist a single change: Bit vague. Thankfully, datadigger@king_bore_hahahas rummaged in the gameguts to identify what that means. Slightly weaker than he was at launch, but with some frustrations smoothed out. Numbers and things in that Twitter post there. At which patchpoint did you fight Radahn, reader dear? How did feel about it? Other than a deep and enduring respect for how much the man loves his horse, of course.

Half-Life Alyx: Levitation is an ambitious VR mod coming this year

Half-Life Alyx: Levitation is exciting to me, then. The trailer above, at least, gives me hope that Levitation might manage it. The animation, meanwhile, is byCorey Laddo, who is best known for several Source Filmmaker animations. For example, check out hisGarth Marenghi’s Darkplace riff. The only downside is that Levitation isn’t done yet. It’ll apparently be released “early Q3” of 2022. If you haven’t played it yet,Half-Life: Alyx is well worth your time....

Heist sim Teardown smashes out of early access this month

I’m excited for it to be done. The devs haven’t really said. Now I’m even more keen to make a big stinking mess with my clumsy heisting. I should stress that Teardown’s destruction technology is not only cool, it’s vital to the game. Teardown is availableon Steamfor 18.49/19.99/$19.99. So much more, too.

A new Monkey Island 2 sequel is coming from Ron Gilbert

Come watch the trailer announcingReturn To Monkey Island. However, Gilbert did addon Twitter, “MI3 doesn’t go out of canon. We were very careful about that. Murray is in this game.” The official MI3 from LucasArts kinda sidestepped Monkey Island 2’s ending, see. And Ron Gilbert had left LucasArts before then, and wasn’t involved. It’s a decent game, but not the one Gilbert would’ve wanted to make. I’ll pay real actual money for them....

Activision Blizzard employees stage walkout with office Covid concerns and working-from-home demands

“This means that employees no longer need to be fully vaccinated for return to the office.” A bit of a non-explanation. Some employees were not best pleased about this. They had three demands: 1. An immediate reversal to lifting the vaccine requirement2. Remote work should be offered as a permanent solution3. It’s understood that four of their many studios have decided to require vaccination. Some employees would rather not. The ABK Workers Alliance have altered their demands, but not dropped them all....

Halo Infinite's players are frustrated, and streamers are feeling the pinch

It peaked withover 200k viewers on Twitch. Halo, after a decade of somewhat divisive releases, was back. But now, just four months after launch, Infinite is struggling to retain its playerbase. Now the Twitch peaks are below 10k and dropping, with the averages even lower. Lynch says February was his worst month views-wise in over a year. The game plays great, so whats the problem? I spoke to a number of different streamers and content creators to get their point of view....
